Fantastic Voyager

Sometimes you just have to sit back and say, 'Whoa!'

After going on 40 years and some 21 billion kilometers, the science and engineering teams extraordinaire for the Voyager 1 just fired up some positional thrusters on the spacecraft.

I mean seriously...I couldn't get my damn Subaru to start a couple of weeks ago!

Ok...I need to buy a 3D Printer...

Seriously...

photo credit to James Floyd Kelly via GeekDad.com
That's a Tomb of Horrors Dice Tray!!!

Worthy of Acererak himself!

James Floyd Kelly over at Geek Dad posted this little 3D printer project he slapped together which then slapped me upside my head when I saw it.

This couldn't get any better unless you actually found a little tiny Sphere of Annihilation to put in the demon's mouth.

Hit the link above and check out this post - which includes the instructions of how to make one yourself - including the DragonLock 3D printable kits he utilized from Fat Dragon Games.

And now I find myself surfing Amazon for a 3D printer...

Star Wars: The Last Nerd

You know you're a nerd when you order the 'free' movie poster you got as a bonus for pre-ordering your tickets for Star Wars: The Last Jedi two months in advance (I say 'free' as it cost $5 s/h...LOL!)

You know you're even more of a nerd when you plan on hanging it in your office this week...

There and Back Again...Again

"In a hole in the ground there lived a hobbit. Not a nasty, dirty, wet hole, filled with the ends of worms and an oozy smell, nor yet a dry, bare, sandy hole with nothing in it to sit down on or to eat: it was a hobbit-hole, and that means comfort – J.R.R. Tolkien, The Hobbit (1937)."

And with that you're off to arguably the greatest story of all time...and all those that follow it in the universe of J.R.R. Tolkien.  And now, the stories continue to be retold ala Amazon...

Amazon's Lord of the Rings TV Series

Apparently, a prequel to The Lord of the Rings...so with some unbelievable anticipation and the great hope that they won't muck all this up...we'll be waiting anxiously for this to happen...all while clutching our replica One Ring in hand as it hangs around our necks with a bit of cord.

Actually, it's coming on time for me to re-read The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings...and maybe The Simarillion too (maybe).

Perhaps by the time I've lovingly traveled from Hobbiton to the Gates of Mordor once again...maybe...just maybe...Amazon's new show will air...

Fastest Hunk of Junk In the Galaxy - Parked near a golf course...

If you were wanting to make the Kessel Run in just a few parsecs...then here's your chance...

Someone spotted the Millennium Falcon on Google Earth in a field in Surrey, England in a field between a golf course and Longcross Film Studios, where they did some filming of Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

How badass is that?!?!

The real question is what is the stroke penalty for hitting the Falcon with your golf ball while playing a round at Barrow Hills Golf Club?

Talk about the best miniature golf hazard ever!!!

Return to the Swarm...for Free!

Did you play Starcraft II: Wings of Liberty and not move on to the expansions?  Well now you have no excuse...Blizzard is offering Heart of the Swarm for free for a limited time!

As Blizzard gets ready to release SCII for free (well, kinda for free...), they also are rolling out the Zergs to Wings of Liberty owners for free - gratis - on the complete cheap.

If you bought Starcraft II: Wings of Liberty prior to October 31 2017, then load up the Blizzard client and check out your gift area to snag your free copy.

But don't procrastinate...Sarah Kerrigan and the bugs will be gone on December 8th!  So get on it for free stuff (I mean really...it's free...why not??)

Or maybe you like paying for stuff...

Painting Your Board Game Pieces

You know painting minis isn't just for tabletop miniature armies...

I started painting my Descent: Journeys in the Dark 2nd Ed. figs recently.

Finished my Goblin Archers from the Core Set...

Some games, Descent for example, have some really excellent sculpts for miniatures.
Plus as the pieces are usually in identical poses (note all of the Goblin Archers in these pics have the same pose) and it lends itself to a kind of assembly line style of painting process, so you can get your game pieces painted up pretty quickly.
And it really makes your games pop even more - really look at the difference between the Goblin Archers and the other unpainted pieces on the table here.

Here's the completed Goblin Archers...

Next...on to my Cave Spiders (just finishing up the basing...)!

Peace...
